Proff. Kristine Neff is one of the leading researcher on the topic of self-compassion. Science shows that self-compassion is one of the factors that is mostly correlated with mental resilience. Compassion is defined as the vibration of the heart at the sight of pain, and "Self-compassion is defined as the ability to meet our own and others' difficulties with good eyes" (Jack Kornfield)
